BREAKING: Many Houston schools remain closed following Hurricane Beryl

Katy ISD to remain closed, summer meals to resume

  • Schools and auxiliary buildings will remain closed until July 14 due to Hurricane Beryl. It will be NO student programs, professional development or facility rentals.
  • Summer meals The lunch program will resume at Mayde Creek High School and Opportunity Awareness Center July 10, from NO breakfast at Mayde Creek High School.
  • Employees exempt from the obligation work remotely unless scheduled personal leave (PTO). Supervisors will contact non-exempt employees to address basic staffing needs.
  • Facility rentals, professional development, special education services, student testing, summer school programs, and sports and arts activities camps will be updated directly by coaches, sponsors and program administrators.

The following schools and campuses will remain closed from Wednesday, July 10:

  • ALL Houston Community College (HCC) Campuses
  • Galena Park Independent School District (GISD)
  • Spring Independent School District (Spring ISD)
  • Cy-Fair Independent School District (CFISD)
  • Conroe Independent School District (Conroe ISD)
  • Rhodes School of Performing Arts
