Kiara Advani Awarded ‘Brand Personality of the Year’

Kiara Advani is an Indian actress who appears in Hindi and Telugu films. After making her acting debut in the comedy Fugly (2014), she played the wife of MS Dhoni in the sports biography MS Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016). She gained recognition for her role as a sexually unsatisfied wife in the Netflix anthology film Lust Stories (2018). Advani gained wider attention for her role in the romantic drama Kabir Singh and the comedy-drama Good Newz, the two highest-grossing Hindi films of 2019. Advani is married to actor Sidharth Malhotra.

Apart from acting, she serves as an ambassador for several brands and products. Her association with various brands, from established brands like Mango, Myntra, TRESemme, Lenskart, drools, Mohey, Caprese and SENCO to name a few, has put her at the forefront of brand building in this digital era and the actress has been felicitated with the ‘Brand Personality of the Year’ award for these strong brand partnerships.

During an interview at the Economic Times Brand Equity Brand World Summit ’24, she spoke about her long-term association with the brand and said, “I have been in the industry for 10 years and I believe that all these brands that have come my way have been special and most of them are brands that I have been associated with for years.” Talking about her first association with the Pond’s brand, she said, “This year was really special… my first brand endorsement was with a brand called Pond’s… and I was with that brand for many, many years and then we had a short break and this year I came back to the brand. So I think there is something special… I have always believed in them, they have always believed in me.”

Kiara Advani shares her greatest strength

The actress revealed that one of her greatest strengths as a brand ambassador is her authenticity, because before she endorses any brand, she is often seen wearing and using the same brand in her personal life. She says, “I think when you use your own products and when you get out there and they see it outside of the ads that are on TV or in the print, there is a certain connection with the audience, they feel like, okay, she really believes in this, she’s not just selling another product, and I think that authenticity comes through in the end.”

She goes on to talk about her thoughtful process before endorsing a brand and how she takes a 360-degree approach, truly embodying the spirit of the brand. “I believe that when you do something, you do it wholeheartedly, so if I’m on board, I feel like I have as much ownership as the brand… and consumers feel that at the end of the day. They feel like you’re connected to the brand,” she added.

Kiara Advani talks about changing consumer needs

She ended the interview by saying that consumer preferences change over time. “When you understand who the consumer is, what their needs are, and what that gap is or what they’re looking for, I believe we’ll be able to reach them, make them feel heard, valued, understood, and give them what they need. Because at the end of the day, we’re all consumers of different products.”
