Assam native Abdul Muttalib’s suspicious late night walk in Aluva – KERALA – GENERAL

KOCHI: Abdul Muttalib, a native of Assam, was walking with a box in the night when a team of Kunnathunad district excise inspector S Binu carried out an ambush. During a later search, the officers found heroin in the box, confirming the tip-off they had received. As per initial reports, Abdul’s illegal rackets are known to be infamous in Aluva and Perumbavoor.

To avoid the eyes of excise and police, the accused carried out transactions only at night, very secretly. A total of 10 grams of heroin and Rs 5,500 from the sale of heroin were seized from the accused.

Possession of more than five grams of heroin is punishable with imprisonment of up to 10 years and a fine of up to one lakh rupees.

The team comprised assistant excise inspectors KT Saju, Salim Yusuf and civil excise officers MR Rajesh, Arun Lal and AB Suresh.
