A seasoned litigator with decades of experience in civil litigation and transactional law, Mr. Kelly is a distinguished litigator at The Kelly Law Firm, LLC. Utilizing nearly 40 years of legal experience, he successfully represents Colorado business and non-business clients in the resolution of disputes or at trial when necessary. As an experienced litigator, he has won several major verdicts, including a wrongful termination lawsuit, Walker v. GTE. Mr. Kelly’s expertise helped establish new rights under Colorado’s wrongful death statutes under Dewey v. Hardy.

Early in his career, Mr. Kelly gained valuable experience as an associate and partner at Warren, Mundt & Martin and as an associate at LaFrance & Associates. Before beginning his professional career, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, magna cum laude, from Colorado College and a J.D. from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Mr. Kelly then studied international law at Magdalen College, Oxford, and received a certificate from the University of Oxford. He later completed a degree in constitutional history at Trinity College, Cambridge, under the tutelage of the late Chief Justice William Rehnquist, becoming a graduate of Cambridge University and a member of its 1209 Society. He is licensed to practice through the Colorado Bar Association, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the United States District Court for the District of Colorado.

Driven to keep abreast of developments in the field, Mr. Kelly is a member of the Colorado Bar Association and the Southwest Bar Association. In connection with his work, he has contributed to the development of his community as Co-Chairman of the Employment Law Committee of the El Paso County Bar Association. In light of his professional accomplishments, he was consistently named Outstanding Young Man in America from 1987 to 1996. Mr. Kelly continues to enjoy the practice of law in the beautiful mountains of southwestern Colorado.
