Sharon Stone to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award in Taormina

Italy Taormina Film Festival will honour Sharon Stone with the Golden Cariddi Award for Lifetime Achievement at its 70th edition later this month.

The actress will follow in the footsteps of previous winners: Jessica Lange, Robert De Niro, Tom Cruise, Sophia Loren, Nicole Kidman, Richard Gere, Colin Firth, Isabelle Huppert, Gina Lollobrigida, Vittorio Gassman, Nino Manfredi, Alberto Sordi and Monica Vitti.

Stone, who will receive her award on the festival’s closing night, will also participate in an onstage conversation about her career.

Since her big screen debut in Woody Allen’s Stardust Memories in the 1980s, Stone won more than 150 film and television awards, and his notable achievements included: Complete reminder, Basic instinct, Splinter AND Casinofor which she won a Golden Globe for Best Actress and an Oscar nomination.

This will be Stone’s first appearance in Taormina, where the Italian premiere took place Basic instinct in 1992.

The Taormina Lifetime Achievement Award joins a number of previous honors Stone has received, including the title of Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters in 2005 in France, the Gold Medal of Merit of the Italian Red Cross in Italy in 2021, and Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters, again in France.

The festival will take place from July 13–19.
