10 Things to Look Out For in York County This Weekend


It’s a busy week in York County!

From local business giveaways to summer fruit festivals, plant-based barbecues, live music and more, there are plenty of ways to have fun this week. Here are 10 events to check out.

Hollabaugh Bros., Inc. 69th Anniversary Blueberry Fest

The annual Hollabaugh Bros., Inc. Blueberry Festival will feature berry treats including ice cream, sundaes, dairy products and more, as well as live music by local artist Austin Rife and wagon rides. Pick-your-own berry picks will also be available, and if you’re in the mood for lunch, Dougie’s BBQ Smokehouse will be on site.

Opening of the exhibition “…hidden place”

Creatives on King, an art gallery and studio, will present the work of watercolor artist Timothy M. Gregory entitled “…Hidden Place.”

The community is invited to view the show and purchase the art. Beverages and light snacks will be available at the opening reception.

Vegan Cooking at the Leg Up Farmers Market

Find your new favorite plant-based snack, meal, drink at the Leg Up Grill this weekend. In addition to the grill with an all-plant menu, your local grocery store will have a variety of free plant-based product samples, some of which are locally produced.

Firefly Night Market in Royal Square

Shop among the fireflies this weekend in the Royal Square District at the evening night market. Vendors will be offering art, crafts, upscale recycled products and more. Royal Square District galleries and art studios will also be open later that evening.

Kable House Presents Joshua Hedley

Singer, fiddler, guitarist Joshua Hedley specializes in the country and western sound, a passion he has dedicated his entire life to. Now, this Saturday night, he brings his sound back to York with his band and a special guest. Tickets are $18 and are available at www.khp.ticketleap.com.

Celebrate 10 years of Indigo Bleu

Indigo Bleu, the trendy, boho boutique in central York, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this weekend.

Enjoy free drinks and desserts, live fashion illustrations from 11:00 to 13:00 and exclusive sales. The first 50 customers will also receive a free candle.

Step back in time at this secret Prohibition-era speakeasy located in the Mudhook Brewing Company Upstairs in downtown York.

Dress in your 20s-inspired costumes and enjoy Prohibition-themed drink specials and food throughout Mudhook. Seating is first come, first served, and space is very limited, though reservations can be made through the brewery.

The 2nd Annual Red Lion Blueberry Festival

Blueberry Hill, a pick-your-own blueberry farm with some 5,000 bushes and several varieties of blueberries, is hosting its second annual Blueberry Festival.

Committed to supporting the community, the cash-only festival is free to attend and will feature local food vendors, artisans and makers, and live entertainment. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy a picnic after picking berries. Handicap parking will also be available.

7 Bridges: The Best Eagles Experience

A tribute to the music of the Eagles, without the use of backtracks or harmonizers, 7 Bridges will recreate the experience of an Eagles concert at Springettsbury Township Park. The free event will feature a handful of local food vendors offering items for sale, including Scoop O Dough, Premium Shaved Ice, Pretzel Spot Café, Stacey’s Orangeade, Food Adventures, Bricker’s, 2 Delicious and Mac Stack.
