Manhattan Beach Businesses Get Chance To Reach Millions Of Customers

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Local business owners in Manhattan Beach have a shot at the retail big-time by sharing their pitches during Walmart’s Annual Open Call.

Walmart and Sam’s Club are searching for small businesses to add to their catalog of products sold on shelves in stores. The Open Call pitch competition presents business owners in Manhattan Beach with an opportunity to meet face-to-face with Walmart or Sam’s Club merchants.

“Open Call provides valuable information to potential suppliers and offers businesses of all sizes from across the nation a chance at a big break with Walmart,” Walmart said on its website.

Applications are open until Monday, July 15. Businesses who are selected will be invited to the event in Bentonville, Arkansas where they will join business owners from all over the US to pitch their products.

In 2023, merchants heard over 1,000 pitches from more than 700 businesses at the event.

Businesses that secure a deal to sell their products in-store and online with Walmart will reach millions of new customers.

“More than 86% of Walmart shoppers have said it is important for retailers to carry goods made in the US,” Walmart said in a statement.
