SCVNews.com | August 7: SCV Chamber Hosts 2nd Annual Black Business Month Celebration

The Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce announced its second annual Black Business Month celebration in honor of Black Business Month.

August is National Black Business Month, an annual celebration that recognizes Black entrepreneurs and their contributions to America’s economy. The celebration will recognize and celebrate the contributions of Black businesses and leaders throughout the Santa Clarita Valley. It will take place on Wednesday, August 7 at 5:30 p.m. at the California Institute of the Arts.

Attendees can count on valuable opportunities to network, interact with other entrepreneurs, and exchange insights from prominent representatives of the black business community.

“As the Chair of the Black Business Council, I am thrilled to invite everyone to our second annual Black Business Month celebration,” said Di Thompson, Chair of the Black Business Council. “This event is more than just a celebration; it is a powerful platform to celebrate the incredible achievements of Black entrepreneurs and business owners. It is an opportunity to shine a light on their significant contributions to our economy and amplify their voices. Join us in recognizing the strength and resilience of our community and supporting the growth and success of Black businesses. Together, we can make a significant impact and inspire future generations.”

Black Business Month takes center stage in August, and the SCV Chamber is proud to recognize the presence and contributions of Black-owned businesses in our community. Participating in this celebration gives the entire SCV community an opportunity to show solidarity with our Black members while fostering an ongoing dialogue about the importance of supporting minority-owned businesses.

This celebration serves as a platform to raise awareness of the critical importance of diversity in both business and communities at large. As part of the celebration, the SCV Chamber will honor outstanding businesses and individuals for their extraordinary contributions to our thriving business community.

“We are excited to celebrate Black Business Month, a time to recognize the incredible achievements and successes of Black business owners and honor their invaluable contributions to our economy,” said Ivan Volschenk, president and CEO of the SCV Chamber of Commerce. “By supporting minority-owned businesses, we drive economic growth and prosperity for all, benefiting both our local community and the broader Black community.”
